me so greedi

Hello my priitis!

It's been a while. I miss blogging. I have to say the mind has been pritti dry, and I don't want to just blabber on about nothing.

This post is about how the Holidays makes people so greedy. I want this, I want that.

Every time I go shopping, I complete my "I need" list... cozy sweater (appropriate for streaming), work skirts, fun nylons, dress for new year, tights... the list goes on!

Then, not a week goes by and I open a magazine, or watch some TV, only to add more stuff on this "I need" list. I thought I just crossed everything off??

Here is my I need/want list, things that are way to expensive for my debts right now:

1. SLR Camera (maybe a Canon, I hate Nikon's customer service)
2. A chaise for my living-room ( I NEED more seating)
3. Ugg Adirondack boots (I already have SORELS!! but I find them bulky)
4. Brown leather Jacket (not sure what brand)
5. Long CanadaGoose Jacket (sold my Aritzia one, and I have a short red CG already)
6. Longchamps makeup bag (can't justify 50$ for it!)
7. New skis (gotta learn to ski this winter first)
8. BOSE speaker system for my TV (I just need a speaker set, it doesn't have to be bose)
9. Armoir for my kitchen (I just need to spot one at an antique show that I like)
10. Travel to Europe! (I have at least 5 more countries I want to see before we start a family... which is in a while still ....)

That's not all... I have a list of things that I need for the house like blinds, rugs and a BED!! This is on my house "NEED" list :S It's okay if you dream about this, but let me remind you that I am in DEBT here people!!

I don't like being greedy though, I have everything I ever wanted and I just have to keep reminding myself that.

I really need to readjust for 2011. I am bad at holding promises to myself, so I will gently remind myself to read this post if I get too greedi.

Now.... all I need to do is copy paste this and my Christmas list is done! haha

lumberjack chique

I was visiting Vancouver this week and had the chance to explore most of the city in one day. Pretty impressive?... it turns out that it's a walkable city... which I completely didn't realize.

Towards the end of my journey I made my way slowly into Gastown, which to me seemed like the SOHO of the Vancouver Island. Cute shops, cobble stones, great vibe!

I found an interesting store called Old Faithful Shop. I call it lumberjack chique.

It was gorgeous!

The owner was quite an interesting character. A little rude and snobish at first, but he opened up towards the end of our conversation and was quite pleasant. He was a polished lumberjack sporting an auburn beard, retro specs, and a new take on a sweet old man's sweater vest.

I asked him permission to take pictures of the store for my blog. He wasn't really thrilled with the idea and stated that he hates the up close shots of small objects and labels. I'm thinking to myself... THESE ARE MY FAVORITE TYPE OF SHOTS!!! Macro setting hello?!?

Anyways, so my pictures suck, 'cuz I was trying to stay cool yet try to capture the amazing things he had in the store. It was just like the outside came in. The old became new. And the unwanted became valued. That would be the general description that I have for the stuff in his store.

I bought my husband a pocket knife from France, two metal camping mugs with lids and a wilderness book... because he is a true lumberjack.... Not a polished one!

I don't want to give too much away and spoil my experience... but you really must check it out!

Yes, it's been a while, but I still love you! I have been busy with my o'valley blog, so I am still here.

I am sharing with you my pici of the weeki that was submitted by an avid reader ;)

This picture is very interesting, and kind of dark with the evil grin on the heel, the hidden young lady and the black cloud above her. Maybe this is just in time for Halloween!

It was taken in the South of France at the hotel marquis de Sade.

the asian arch... now in Ottawa

Hello my prittis,

You may or may not have noticed but Ottawa has recently recieved it's Asian Arch on Somerset right in the heart of China Town!

I was completely shocked when I saw it and wondered if I had not noticed it in the past. Here are some preliminary pics. It's still under construction.

It's really qute coulourfull and detailed beautifully. I think it adds some much needed architecture to the city.

I hope you get a chance to see it soon!

mmmBoots!

So, I dit it. I caved. I bought rubber boots. And I love them! It was a birthday gift.

Do you think I can justify paying more than $100 for a pair of rubber boots that you can get at Canadian Tire for $5!!

I wore them today, even if the weather has been beautiful since my purchase. I love how they squeak... maybe they're thirsty?

I tried on the Tretorns, but they fit funny and they don't bend enough at the ankle. The Hunters also have a sock that turns the boots into winter ones! That, or they try to help you justify your purchase. I went with a short original boot in grey. This way it will match my long navy blue rain coat from North Face. I can't wait for the rain! Bring it on mother nature :)

I also like how they are a London product... but I saw a made in China sticker on the bottom :S That's another story.

I wish I could have had rubber boots when I was a kid, I would definately have enjoyed the rain more!

If you are wondering about mmmBoots! as a title, it's an inside joke with my younger sister. It's from the movie MAFIA! (aka funniest movie ever!). The poor man opens the lid off a pot of boiling soup and say : Mmm boot soup! (while pulling the boot out of the pot).

One last thing, boots don't count as shoes do they :S... Oh brother, here we go again!
